Saying that he had a busy week and couldn’t find the time to study, student Peter Marigold ‘17 joined the army yesterday to get out of a tough linear algebra exam. “I’d only gotten through the first two or so sections of the study guide the night before, so I figured I’d think up a good excuse to get out of taking the test,” said Marigold, who will reportedly be deployed to Afghanistan within the month. “I got a B+ on my first exam but figured I’d probably get a B-, maybe even a C on this one. Didn’t want my parents to drag me through the ringer. Hopefully this way I’ll have a little extra time to study and I can retake the exam when I finish my tour of duty.” As of press time, Marigold had joined Al Qaeda to get out of going through Army boot camp.
