Douglas set out to complete the Ratty Challenge last Saturday and did so, surpassing his goal after choking on his bacon-cheese omelet.

Friends of Smith are supporting him in his endeavor, saying, “Doug is breaking so many records right now. Who wouldn’t be excited for him?” They also said he has “real ambition” and they always knew that he would do something great with his life.

Ratty employees noticed Douglas sitting at a table in the back corner several hours after his estimated time of death, noting that he had “the look of a champion” on his face.

When they came back later after closing time, he was still sitting in the same position with the same “determined stare” off into the not-too-distant future.
