Opening their phone to an alert for a new text message from mom, junior Sarah Biltmore ‘24 is sure that she will receive either a goofy photo of her lovable childhood dog, or a somber update on the current condition of one of her relatives.
“LOL. Luna wearing the sweater that I knitted her, so adorable,” read the text message from her mom, with an adorable attached image of her beloved dog. “Look at how much her tail is wagging, I don’t even think she hates it that much ;).”
“Also, your great aunt suffered from a light stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. She is recovering but the doctors say she will have to begin rehab immediately,” read the next message. “I spoke with her yesterday and she is not quite able to communicate yet. Please call next week.”
At press time, a text from Dad was nonexistent.
