You Win Some, You Lose Some, You Crash Your Car Into A Strip Mall Sushi Restaurant Some

Published Friday, April 25th, 2014

If there is one thing I’ve learned about life, it’s life is full of ups and downs. You win some, you lose some, you crash your car into a strip mall sushi restaurant some, and there’s not much you can do about it.

Life is like a big roller coaster. It has its ups, its downs, and its looping drop at 90 mph where your Hyundai Santa Fe hurtles uncontrollably into plate-glass windows of Matsuya Sushi Restaurant.

Anybody will tell you: that’s just life.

Life can be unexpected and crazy, and we need to take the necessary risks to live it to the fullest. Meet new people. Try new foods. Open unmarked doors. Take wrong turns. Hell, take a turn that doesn’t even exist—straight into that sushi place right between Michael’s and the card store. Maybe you make a few mistakes along the way, but who doesn’t? That’s what really living is all about!

I always say—hope for the best and prepare for the worst, because you just never know what life has in store. Maybe you knock down half of Matsuya with your Hyundai Santa Fe, what do you do? You apologize. You move on. Leave the past in the past.

I’ve learned over the years that it’s important to be impulsive. Ask that girl on a date. Take a flight to Mexico on a whim. Head straight on into a glass wall while blasting Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” and don’t look back. If nothing else, you’ll have a story to tell your grand kids.

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or make a vodka sour and put it in a to-go cup to drink while driving your Hyundai Santa Fe. Make the best of what life deals you.

Anyways, sorry about your sushi restaurant. It was really nice when I ate there 3 years ago. Dude, seriously, so good to meet you. Good luck with all the stuff!
