The New Jonas Brothers Album is Fricken Sick!...I Mean, It's Kinda Chill I Guess

Published Friday, October 24th, 2008

Dudes and ladies, it's Chad Myers reporting-the My-Man! I know you've been holding your breath waiting to hear my take on the summer's illest jams, so let's get it started!

Long story short, some turd spilled a Natty on my iPod at an epic end-of-summer rager, so I had to borrow my younger sister's. Little did I know I would stumble across such a frickin' gem of a musical trio. I'm talking about the three finest bros on the music scene right now, the Jonas Brothers! I mean, I don't mean fine like "fiiine." I just, like, they're pretty good. Anywayz.

Let me drop some background knowledge on this B. The JoBros burst onto the scene in 2005 with the instant classic album It's About Time. Their sophomore attempt, Jonas Brothers, in my opinion, was a little too accessible and commercialized compared to their earlier stuff. But their latest album, A Little Bit Longer, is a slammin' return to form. Seriously, dudes, this CD approaches levels of chillness not seen since the Dave Matthews Band. Nick Jonas is like this millenium's Jack Johnson, that's how chill they are. We should get Dave Binder to cover them at Spring Weekend. So epic! They're like Hanson 2.0, only sicker!

Not that I listened to Hanson. Of course not. I mean, well, I did occasionally. Whatever. "Mmmbop" is a pretty tight song. Right?

But this pimpin' JoBros album. First of all, it's versatile. For the gym: those dope beats will get you amped to lift some serious iron. For hanging with your boys: it's hella melodically pleasing. And for setting the mood: I put it on last week when I was getting ready to mack with this girl, and she was all, "Oh my god Chad, I know this song!" (Then she asked me if I was having trouble coming out. Weird. I was like, "Hell yes I'm coming out tonight, you know I'll be out on Wriston ready to party!" But then she said that wasn't what she meant and she left. Whatever, ho left in the middle of the timeless single "Lovebug," so she clearly doesn't know squat about music.)

I dig their style too. Those three piece suits and bowler hats? Classy as f*ck.

So yeah, check 'em out! Or don't. Your call. I'm not, like, that into them, or anything.
