Looking up from his notes to watch his classmate blend paint, junior Adam Smalls reported that the girl sitting next to him in the back of the lecture hall is straight up working on an oil painting instead of paying attention.
“It’s not uncommon to see kids doing other work or scrolling through Facebook during class,” Smalls said, engrossed in the artist’s handiwork. “But she’s literally working on an oil painting.”
“The professor must know she’s not paying attention or taking notes," Smalls added, losing his focus on the lecture entirely as the painting developed. "She’s clearly been staring at her canvas this whole time.”
“I was sick the last class and asked if I could copy her notes. She just handed me an oil painting of a marsh.”
