A devastated nation woke up on Sep 29th, 2023, stunned by the sudden death of one of the youngest 90-year-olds in Congress.
“She had so much of her 90s left to live,” noted Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, still reckoning with the unexpected tragedy. “And to think, she never even got a chance to retire.”
“You always picture yourself going peacefully in your sleep when you’re 140, but to think that something like this could happen to a 90-year-old before they even get to meet their great-great-grandchildren, it really puts things in perspective,” added New Jersey representative Bill Pascrell Jr. “It really makes you realize that no tomorrow in your 90s is promised.”
At press time, doctors realized she'd been dead since 2013.
