Ref Too Embarrassed To Admit He Really Did Leave Glasses At Home

Published Friday, April 25th, 2014

After making a questionable call during the third quarter of last night’s Heat-Spurs matchup, NBA Referee Tom Jenkins was too embarrassed to admit that he did in fact forget his glasses at home.

“What are you, blind?” asked one enraged fan of Jenkins, who, while not legally blind, does require his eyeglasses to read, drive and officiate high-stakes sporting events.

“Tom must just be so uncomfortable out there,” said Jenkins’ wife Susan, watching from the stands as her vision-impaired husband attempted to eject the Heat’s mascot Burnie from the game. According to Susan, Jenkins left the spectacles right on the dresser where he always does, but by the time he realized, the couple had already reached the stadium and it was too late to go back.

After the game, Jenkins checked his phone only to discover that he actually did miss a few calls.
