10-Year-Old Parental Controls Whistle-Blower Seeks Asylum at Jeffrey’s House

Published Friday, September 6th, 2013

10-year-old Daniel Fuller made headlines on Tuesday after leaking classified documents detailing Janine and Carl Fuller’s sweeping Parental Controls operation that monitored the online activity and communications of American citizens, specifically their own two children. The young whistleblower is currently seeking asylum at friend and neighbor Jeffrey Clipper’s house, where he hopes to evade extradition.

According to the leaked documents, the Fullers’ Parental Controls program enables them to collect and analyze the online and telecommunicational data of any American citizen who is their child and does not know the password to turn it off.

“They’ve basically given themselves carte blanche to snoop anywhere they want with impunity,” remarked Daniel, speaking from the kitchen of Jeffrey’s house—a place he will, for at least the next couple hours, be forced to call home. “Emails, Internet history, television shows: they’re looking into everything. If you think you’re free to watch shows that feature mature themes or Google image search ‘naked butts’ without them finding out, think again.”

Jacob Fuller, privacy advocate and 8-year-old brother of Daniel Fuller, came out in support of his brother’s whistle-blowing, calling his parents’ monitoring of their children’s online activity a “devastating, though not surprising,” attack on privacy rights.

“This is yet another step towards a police state from the same parents who not months ago forced me to close my eyes during the inappropriate parts of Austin Powers,” Jacob Fuller remarked. “That’s basically all of Austin Powers. I mean, come on.”

Not since 12-year-old Cassie Meseda exposed her parents’ extensive diary-reading operation has a privacy violation of this magnitude been uncovered. However, according to Daniel Fuller, these data-mining techniques are only the tip of the iceberg.

“If you don’t think they’re listening in, I suggest you reconsider,” warned Fuller. “Especially if you’re an infant. I’ve seen the baby monitors with my own eyes. There’s nothing they don’t hear.”

He added, “Is that the America you really want to live in?”

Fuller’s decision to seek asylum at his friend Jeffrey’s house appears to be motivated by a number of factors, not the least of which is Jeffrey’s parents’ history of supporting less restricted access to information. “Jeffrey’s parents let us watch Jerry Springer,” remarked Fuller.

The Fullers refused to comment on their role in the data-mining operation that appears to have targeted the online activity, phone records, and television viewing history of their two sons, but did announce plans to drastically curtail Daniel’s access to video games should they be forced to come all the way over to Jeffrey’s house and get him themselves.
