“Better Call Saul” is, without a doubt, the best show I’ve seen in my entire life. It easily trumps all other shows in television history.
The way Vince Gilligan was able to tell such a riveting story so expertly, season after season, is just unbelievable to me. It’s brilliant how every episode ends in a way that makes me want to watch the next episode. And just look at the contrast between Jimmy McGill’s white collar life and the shady dealings of the cartel and how the two gradually collide together. Not to mention the strain Jimmy puts on all his relationships — Kim, Howard, Chuck, you name it. In the end, Jimmy’s hubris was his downfall. These are truly themes that no other show has ever captured before, and it will be tremendously difficult for any future shows to come anywhere close to this gold standard.
Can you believe how it got snubbed at the Emmys again? Who even watches Succession? Not me! Any time I would spend watching one of those competing shows would be time wasted. I already know “Better Call Saul” is better. It’s in the name. None of the other shows have a character as complex as Mike. Mike is such a badass, but at the end of the day, all he really cares about is his family.
Don’t even get me started on Bob Odenkirk. It’s simply beyond masterful how he portrays the depth of Saul Goodman. Saul is such a shady character who seems to constantly harm those close to him. And yet, I can’t help but root for him at times. Six Emmy nominations and not a single win? Ridiculous. I don’t know who those tasteless Emmy punks are but we must not have watched the same “Better Call Saul.”
