While hundreds of admitted students explored campus through ADOCH events this month, one prospective student experienced an authentic glimpse of life at Brown when his ADOCH host sexiled him for the night.
“I was on my way back from a concert when my host texted me and asked me to stay clear of the room,” recalled Michael Dimeno, an admitted student who was asked to leave with little explanation on his first night at Brown. “After hanging out in the hallway for an hour, I knocked to see if I could come back and he peeked his head out and asked if I could sleep somewhere else. It felt super real. I was so glad I got to see what Brown was really like.”
Dimeno noted that there were plenty of ADOCH events to occupy him until 2:00 AM. “But once the ice cream socials and performances ended for the night, that’s when I really experienced Brown,” Dimeno said. “After I got kicked out, I went to the lounge to try to fall asleep, but two other students were having a loud conversation so I just laid on the couch for hours. I felt like I got an experience that no one else did.”
Dimeno added that his authentic experience continued when he woke up the next morning and it was 45 degrees and raining.
