BDH Grateful That Nothing Newsworthy Happens Over Weekends, Breaks, And All Summer

Published Friday, September 13th, 2019

After a relaxing and much needed summer break, reporters at the Brown Daily Herald are grateful that nothing newsworthy happens over weekends, breaks, and all summer.

“During the school year, we work tirelessly to bring the Brown community new articles every weekday,” said Ron Stinch, editor of the Providence news section. “We diligently track noteworthy events as they occur — which is only Monday-Friday, and of course during the school year.”

“It’s nice leaving campus in May knowing that nothing notable will happen until the precise day I come back from vacation,” Stinch noted. “It’s really convenient that everything worth writing about happens during the five-day work week excluding June, July, August, and most of January.”

At press time, BDH reporters were also thankful for op-ed writers who always provided great opinions on important things.
