Sources out of Campbell’s Soup Stadium this past weekend reported that every football player in the big huddle was too nervous to talk first.
“Ok, so, should someone start us off here?” asked quarterback Brusk Fittle, his voice shaking and his head down, staring at his feet. “No worries if not.”
“Um, I think Dirk is good at these speeches so maybe he should go?” added wide receiver Geod Littlebrinn, also avoiding eye contact with any of the other players and gesturing towards tight end Dirk Spunt, who immediately began sweating and inching towards the outside of the circle at the mention of his name. “Is Dirk around?”
“Hmm, ahem, umm I guess… I just don’t really know what to say is all,” said Spunt, softly, his voice breaking and his fear of letting his teammates down leading his eyes to get watery. “I feel kind of put on the spot right now Geod.”
At press time, some of the football players feeling left out of the touchdown celebration.
