After months of trip-planning contention, sophomore Kailey Davis’s friend group has pivoted spring break plans from a European adventure to four nights at Tatum’s house in rural West Virginia.
“Paris would have been a dream come true, but Tatum’s house will be a ton of fun too,” emphasized Davis, anxiously scanning TripAdvisor’s list of 15 Best Things to Do in West Virginia for anything remotely enjoyable. “Besides, Buckhannon is like the Paris of West Virginia. And think about all the money we’ll save by staying on the floor of Tatum’s divorced dad’s bachelor pad. We are college students on a budget after all!”
“I do admit, I was kind of looking forward to meeting some handsome European men,” continued Davis, attempting to figure out how many connecting flights she’ll have to take to arrive in remote West Virginia. “But who is to say I won’t meet a fine young gentleman at a local dive bar? You know what they say about guys from the Mountain State…”
At press time, Davis presented the idea of a summer trip to Spain knowing full well that the friend group will probably end up in Upstate New York for the third summer in a row.
