Taking a blind risk as he completed his turn in a game of Scrabble this weekend, area man Drip McGill was just crossing his fingers that “dup” was somehow a word. “I’m out of options,” McGill confessed, hesitantly edging his U and P tiles beneath a D to create the questionable sequence of letters. “The letters I drew are awful, so I took a leap of faith on ‘dup.’ That’s probably something, right? My friend just played ‘fud’ and no one called her out, so I might be in the clear.” At press time, McGill placed his E and F tiles under “dup” to create the similarly dubious “pef.”
