Snow May Still Return, Warns New England Resident Like Rugged Mountain Nomad

Published Friday, April 9th, 2021

Cautioning outsiders against falling for this false spring, local New England resident Nathaniel Behr warned that snow may still return like a rugged nomad who has spent years traversing frigid mountain peaks.

“I wouldn’t put away your winter jacket just yet if I were you,” Behr said, recounting the countless April snowstorms he’s seen in New England like a grizzled wanderer who’s endured the unforgiving arctic climes for decades without ever feeling true warmth. “Sure, it might be 60 degrees today, but don’t get used to it. A cold snap could easily bring us a coating to an inch of snow just a few days from now.”

Behr suggested that anyone who doesn’t come from New England should be prepared for snow to come back at any moment, like the fur-clad chieftain of a small clan of vagabonds grimly predicting a harsh winter ahead.

“You might not get this if you don’t come from New England like I do, but just because it’s spring doesn’t mean it can’t snow,” Behr continued, cautioning newcomers against getting too comfortable with the warmer weather like a lone recluse in a mountaintop cabin urging travelers to turn back or face certain death when the next blizzard blows in. “I’d definitely bet we’ll see snow again before the month is over.”

At press time, Behr advised people from outside New England to expect frequent rain like a bedraggled seafarer who has weathered many a monsoon in his years sailing the ocean blue.
