Third Grader Brilliantly Starts Acrostic Poem With Same Word

Published Friday, March 11th, 2022

Shaking their heads in amazement, faculty at Peabody Elementary School in Johnston have reported that third grader Clayton Baumsdale brilliantly started his acrostic poem with the same word. “Never in my fifty-nine years have I seen something so simple and yet so elegant. The boy’s a bona fide genius,” reported Baumsdale’s teacher Mrs. Ferbit, holding up the poetic masterpiece in disbelief and awe. “Most children would start an acrostic of ‘Tree’ with something derivative like ‘Tall’ or ‘Timber,’ but not Clayton. Because at the end of the day, the ‘T’ in ‘Tree’ really does stand for ‘Tree.’ How beautifully profound.” At press time, a nearby fourth grader flexed her artistic prowess by sticking a sun in the corner of her drawing.
