Young Journalist Aspires To One Day Have The First Two Sentences Of Her Articles Skimmed By Millions

Published Friday, December 6th, 2013

Budding journalist Anna Bremer admits that she still has a long way to go, but hopes that one day millions of people will click on, skim, and misunderstand the articles she writes.

“I’ve been working really hard,” Bremer commented. “If I want to achieve my goals, it’s important that I become a good writer so that when people glance through my articles on their smart phones while they’re in a meeting, they’ll get all the facts.”

Sources reported that, despite the harsh competition aspiring journalists face, Bremer has not given up her dream of influencing the uninformed arguments of people who look through her articles for statements with which they agree.

Jason Pyke, Bremer’s former journalism professor, encouraged her to enter the field. “America needs good journalists like Anna to inform the public a little bit about some topics that people like to click on,” said Pyke.

Bremer told reporters that she didn’t mind the meager pay that young journalists receive. “It’ll all be worth it when I see my byline on the screen, getting millions of clicks from people who won’t read past the second paragraph,” Bremer noted.

“For me, it’s about serving the public,” Bremer continued. “People need to stay informed about the major buzzwords that seem to be popping up in headlines. I can help make that happen.”

Bremer added that just the thought of one day having a few sentences of her writing glanced at by people, maybe even policy makers and influential business people, was enough to get her through the day.

“Some day my name will be right there on the screen, right next to the ‘share’ button and the ad for cough syrup,” said Bremer.
